Description
Join us at the Millennium Country Park for a guided 3hr walk led by our team of expert volunteers. We’ll be looking out for winter migrants such as thrushes, including redwing and field fare and other wintering birds such as bull finches, reed bunting and stonechats. The second half of our walk will be within our Wetlands Nature Reserve where we will see wintering waterfowl on the Pilling including teal, gadwall, pintail, and goldeneye. You never know what rare species our Volunteer Guides will spot at this time of year!
What you need to know:
Bring binoculars if you have them – but don’t worry if not, we have spares available!
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear
No dogs allowed on this walk as we will be exploring the Wetlands Nature Reserve
Accessibility: Many of the Millennium Country Park paths are wheelchair and pushchair friendly, and we have accessible toilets on site. For this event we will be venturing onto the callow mounds which has varied footpaths that are not all highly accessible – if you have any additional mobility needs, please contact us prior to the walk and we will aim to offer you an alternative route.
