Marcio’s Authentic Brazilian Food

Looking for the Best Breakfast in Bedford?

Craving an energising start to your day? Look no further than Marcio’s Authentic Brazilian Food in Bedford. This charming cafe boasts a delightful breakfast menu, featuring vibrant Brazilian flavours alongside classic English favourites. This breakfast was hands down one of the best we have tried in Bedford.

Bridges Espresso Bar

Bridges Espresso Bar is a modern, independent, family-run coffee shop that offers quality local products and ingredients from across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. They have a ‘Local First’ policy, which means they always try to source their supplies from local farmers and producers. Their breakfast offerings are nothing short of sensational and guaranteed them a spot on our best breakfast in Bedford guide. You can enjoy their signature coffee, made with Wooden Hill beans roasted in Ampthill, along with a variety of breakfast options, such as waffles, toasties, granola, and pastries. They also serve Willow Tree Gin, a premium spirit distilled in Bedfordshire, if you fancy a boozy brunch.

Frescoes Coffee Shop

Frescoes Coffee Shop is a historic former book shop that has been transformed into a stylish and comfortable cafe with three beautifully decorated rooms. What we love about their menu, and what makes them a great place if you are looking for the best breakfast in Bedford, is that it’s suggestions. They actively encourage you to come up with your own combinations rather than being tied to the status quo. That said, the breakfast bagels and full English are amazing, and all made with fresh and local ingredients. You can relax in their cosy atmosphere, admire their original artwork by their Artist in Residence, or enjoy their outdoor seating area.

The Barn Cardington

Recently taken over by The Bedford Cheese Co, we weren’t sure what to make of The Barn Cardington, but were pleased to see it hadn’t lost it’s charm, friendly feel or amazing breakfast! For breakfast, you can indulge in their Barn Breakfast, which includes bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, mushroom, toast, and tea or coffee. They also have vegetarian and vegan alternatives.

Green Earth Cafe

We know, some might say it’s controversial to have a vegan-only cafe on a list of the best breakfast in Bedford, but we disagree. We’re all about the food and Green Earth Cafe certainly does a great job on that front. Green Earth Cafe is a vegan eco-cafe that serves healthy and delicious food made with organic and fair-trade ingredients. They have a range of breakfast dishes, such as porridge, pancakes, smoothie bowls, and avocado toast. They also have homemade cakes, muffins, and cookies for a sweet treat. Their coffee is organic and roasted locally by Wooden Hill Coffee. You can enjoy your meal in their bright and colourful cafe or take it away in their biodegradable packaging.

Cibo Deli and Kitchen

Cibo Deli and Kitchen is an independent deli and kitchen that combines modern and contemporary style with Italian heritage and was never in doubt when we were compiling our guide for the best breakfast in Bedford. They offer a diverse range of freshly made artisan sandwiches, salads, soups, and pastries. You can also buy quality cheeses, cured meats, dried pasta, and wine from their deli. But what we love the most is their breakfast offer. The Hangover is absolutely delicious, particularly when paired with their Tater Tots – Phenomenal!
