Mark’s storytelling in the Studio is a Bedfringe fixture. He’s back for the twelfth time in fourteen years.

Transformation – shape-shifting, metamorphosis – has been a vital part of storytelling from the earliest epics to modern fantasy, and in all cultures. Sometimes the transformation is no more than a trick to help the character, but here Mark offers four stories where physical change grows naturally from the circumstances. Three are his telling; Sara Turner will sing the fourth – one of the oldest and greatest of British folk songs. Justice, fulfilment, love, and finally life itself are won in these transformations.
