Great music venue with 3 stages and do a good pint of real ale

Great venue, great staff, great sound system and a great crowd too. Highly recommended if you're in the area looking for a live music venue or just fancy a drink. Definitely will be returning.

It’s Decenttttttttt, Everyday i’m shuffling. In the Esquires i was greeping and shuffling. Guinness was up to standard and reasonably priced. The Stairs weren’t creeky and the upstairs room was alright. Mash on sound seriously cooked up the new sound. #LongLiveSarpaSalpa. This venue is not the same as it used to be, it is someone new. Bit Sweaty but that’s down to the crowd. But Eh, on the brightside, atleast i wasn’t forced to sit through a low girl concert.

If you’re under 25 you’ll need to bring ID otherwise you won’t be allowed into the building. I’m 16 and had paid for tickets to see a school band, after telling the security at the front that we are 16 and are not buying alcohol they still refused to let us in and were very rude about it. Their reason being because there’s alcohol on the premises, but if there was and we proved we were 16 they would let us in? which makes no sense because it’s not like we’d be allowed to drink either way. Considering it was a school event it’s a bit ridiculous

Wouldn't let us in because we don't have id, both of us are 16 and the performers were 15 and it was an event linked to our school. The reason we weren't allowed in was because there was alcohol on the premisis which makes no sense because obviously you can be id'd at the bar but to not be allowed in the whole event is just so ridiculous especially after we had paid for tickets and going to support a friend. Stupid

Decent place for live music every week. Variety of artists and genres from hip-hop to folk, rock to funk. Upstairs room is where all the bands play. Sound system used to be horrific but last few times I've been the sound has been infinity better so ok n guessing they've upgraded it. The infamous sticky carpet is still there.
