A dinner with friends on a Thursday night. Our server Holly was excellent- thank you so much!
The vibe was busy enough but not too loud, music was noticeable - could hear a bop from yesteryear and smile, but not so loud we needed to shout.
Food quality was a bit patchy - very dry buttermilk chicken and bun was very squashy, fries were nice though, well-seasoned. Beers were exemplary as always!

Great place, great vibe, great food and blooming great staff….had an issue with my order (mostly a system error) but the staff AND the kitchen had it sorted no bother at all. Always a pleasure to visit! (Thanks to Shaz, Becky and Thea and the kitchen today!)
There are bad breakfasts, and then there’s what I endured at Brewpoint – a meal so lacklustre, so miserably devoid of joy, it made me nostalgic for the culinary precision of a motorway Little Chef circa 1994.
From the outside, Brewpoint looks the part: industrial chic with just enough wood and filament bulbs to suggest someone, somewhere, once had an idea. But that’s where the charm ends. I popped in for breakfast – a casual decision I now regret with the intensity of a hangover in fluorescent lighting.
Despite the place being practically empty (a clue, perhaps), the kitchen took an eternity to slap together what I can only assume was a tribute to post-war rationing. When it finally arrived, the “smashed avocado on toast” was slapped onto a slice of stale Mother’s Pride – the kind of bread that hasn’t been seen since the mid-80s (sourdough anyone?). The avocado was grey, grainy, and about as flavourful as shredded tax returns.
Then came the Full English. “Full” is generous. “English” is arguable. Two pale, shrivelled sausages that looked like they’d been defrosted in a microwave, accompanied by a pair of fried eggs that arrived already broken – not so much cooked as quietly weeping onto the plate. The bacon was over-salted and inedible, like something found at the back of a fridge labelled ‘for emergencies only’. This wasn’t breakfast; it was a cautionary tale.
To add insult to indigestion, all this was delivered with the kind of joyless indifference that suggests staff morale is on a par with the bacon – overcooked and a bit sad.
Honestly, you’d be better off popping across the road to McDonald’s where at least the eggs are whole and the coffee doesn’t taste like disappointment. Or – better still – go somewhere not operated by Charles Wells, whose grasp of hospitality seems rooted in the belief that style can distract from the sort of food that would shame a service station.
One star, and that’s only because I can’t give it none.

Really enjoyed my visit here. The place has a cool industrial vibe but still feels warm and relaxed. I came by with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon and we ended up staying way longer than planned. Tried the On Point pale ale and the Midpoint lager, both were excellent, super fresh and full of flavour. We also shared a pizza (the Spicy Sausage one) and some wings, both came out hot and tasted great. Staff were friendly without being pushy and even helped us pick beers based on what we usually like. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, decent parking, and a nice crowd without it feeling too packed. Definitely coming back, maybe for one of their quiz nights or brewery tours next time.

We came in for darts in the afternoon. The atmosphere was great and we were helped by Kalina. She then introduced us to the retail shop, which is stocked very well and has a lot of their beers in a can form to take home. I recommend the alpha !
