Was at a two-day conference at King's House and needed a sweet treat. The first day I got a slice of raspberry coconut loaf cake...soooo good. The next day I tried a slice of the mango lime cake. It was also tasty. A friend shared a bite of the raspberry coconut crumble. It was very sweet. The staff behind the counter were friendly and helpful. The decaf flat white was good, as well as the hot chocolate. If you're ever in Bedford, I can recommend this cafe. There's plenty of inside seating.

Ground Floor Coffee Shop in Bedford is a lovely hidden gem inside King's House. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with plenty of comfy seating—perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done.
Their coffee, roasted locally by Wooden Hill Coffee Company, is excellent, and I love that they support tree planting in the Forest of Marston Vale. The food is fresh and tasty too—my pulled pork and apple sandwich was spot-on, and the cakes are all locally sourced.
They also offer Teapigs teas, a loyalty card for regulars, and eco-friendly packaging. Whether you're staying a while or grabbing something via Uber Eats, it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Bedford.

Welcoming and friendly. Reasonably priced, I paid £8.10 I think for a gluten free meal deal equivalent that was far better then any shop I have been to that I recall and you get to chat and sit down on a comfortable table/chairs.
The gluten free falafel wrap wasn't dry and tasted kind of like a vegan haslet to me, not meaty but texture wise and very satisfying. The sauce was a sweet-ish chilli and it had lettuce in, it was lovely.
I got veggie crisps and and a fizzy drink that was just juice based without any sweeteners in as I'm cutting down on sugar, caffeine and chemicals/additives.

Met up with friends, a first visit for me, really lovely atmosphere, low background music, different seating areas for comfort or at a table. Great cafe, excellent food choice, sandwiches, soups, range of drinks. Really enjoyed the pulled pork and apple sandwich, really nicely presented. Staff very friendly, excellent and efficient service.
Thank you.

Truly excellent cafe. Exceptional food prepared by a talented kitchen staff and cooked to the manager's personal recipes. Serving staff are friendly and efficient and the prices are ludicrously low for the quality one receives. By far the best soup and chilli in Bedford. Don't be put off because the café's main function is to service the adjacent conference centre. This is no common or garden cafeteria. Perhaps Bedford's best kept culinary secret.

Lovely secluded open space, great atmosphere. Good quality hot and cold foods available. The coffee is made from high quality independently sourced beans. Only small point is that seeming as they have a small kitchen out back, the hot food menu could have a little more variety.
Definitely visit if your passing through.

Went for breakfast. Then staff was very welcoming. Head chef Sathya was very warm, helpful and accomodating. Had rixh wholesome breakfast. Even got complimentary drink!!! Will definitely visit again.
Price was good but the 4 little crisps on a plate next to the saddest looking toastie was a little odd and felt like quite a long wait for the food. Jacket potato looked like it had just been stuck in a microwave.
