Description

Set in the heart of St Cuthberts Street, Bedford in a unique Victorian Building. Herd is the perfect place for one of our signature burgers, a drink with friends, hosting or attending an amazing event. It’s a mix of bright open spaces and cosy hidden corners including a heated covered courtyard.

BY DAY
Herd is open for Coffee, Cake, Brunch and Lunch. Herd is ideal for meeting up or spreading out by yourself. We have Wifi, a heated covered outside terrace and are dog friendly

BY NIGHT
We move onto our dinner service selling our legendary burgers and our bar starts to come alive with a roster of exceptional DJ’s both local and from further afield.

Friday and Saturday nights, the Herd bar is open until 1am.

What a gem of a place! The food is delicious and the atmosphere even better. I have been here a few times for music events and dinners, and once for a delicious roast. The staff have always been kind and helpful and the owners themselves take great care to ensure your visit is perfect Couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Herd is an absolute gem of an independent venue. The food and drinks are delicious, lovely service too. The high quality music events they host set them apart from others. We’ve visited from Manchester a couple of times and always received a very warm welcome, we can’t wait to go back.

I booked a meal for my mums birthday (today) as we have heard great things about the herds roast. The owner called me over a week ago and cancelled my booking because they said they were closing that day as it wouldn’t make sense to be open. I found it so hard to find another place that had any bookings because it’s bank holiday weekend, luckily we know the owners of another restaurant that could squeeze us in. My family and I see that they posted 4 days ago about doing dub and reggae for today. I’m absolutely appalled. I will never step foot in the herd, if I could give them 0 stars I would.

Went to Herd for one of Bedford's best burgers. Dozy me didn't realise on Sunday there is no burgers and only a full Sunday roast. No matter, had the beef Sunday roast and it was amazing and very big. Need to come back for a burger though, but worried when the server said that they are only open Thursday to Sunday now because of a lack of foot fall. Come on everyone, use it or lose it!
