Description

Set in the heart of St Cuthberts Street, Bedford in a unique Victorian Building. Herd is the perfect place for one of our signature burgers, a drink with friends, hosting or attending an amazing event. It’s a mix of bright open spaces and cosy hidden corners including a heated covered courtyard.

BY DAY
Herd is open for Coffee, Cake, Brunch and Lunch. Herd is ideal for meeting up or spreading out by yourself. We have Wifi, a heated covered outside terrace and are dog friendly

BY NIGHT
We move onto our dinner service selling our legendary burgers and our bar starts to come alive with a roster of exceptional DJ’s both local and from further afield.

Friday and Saturday nights, the Herd bar is open until 1am.

We went today for a Sunday roast - and it was brilliant! There were 7 of us, the food was so so so so good, the service was great and we’d highly recommend it to anyone. We even managed to take home a doggie bag of all the meat we couldn’t finish. Desserts were also great. Absolutely recommended! ⭐️ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Top spot for burgers — super tasty and chilled vibes! Herd seriously delivers when it comes to burgers. Mine was juicy, cooked perfectly, and packed with flavour — easily one of the best I’ve had locally. The menu has loads of choices too, which makes it fun to try different combos. The place itself has a really nice feel — modern, cool, and very relaxed. Perfect for grabbing food with friends or just unwinding after work. Staff were friendly and made sure everything went smoothly, though things did slow down a bit when it got busy (understandable, but worth mentioning). Overall, amazing food, friendly team and really chilled atmosphere. Almost perfect — will definitely come back!

We’d never been here before but got told it’s the best roast in Bedford, so we had to give it a go. Got seated quickly in a nice spot by the window. Our waitress, Flo, was lovely—great service and she makes a seriously good cocktail. Strong, tasty, and honestly the best I’ve had in ages. Definitely try the ‘Zombie’ cocktail! As for the roast, the food came out pretty quickly. The Yorkshires were amazing, same with the roast potatoes. The chicken and pigs in blankets could’ve done with about 10 more minutes—they were a bit pale for me, but still cooked and tasted good. Gravy and veg were spot on. All in all, really enjoyed it and would definitely come back!

Came into the Herd today itching for a quality burger and they did not disappoint! Nice and comfortable spot to eat and get a pint, the staff were very friendly and prompt. Ordered the herd prime, bacon and kimchi burgers, the salted peppers, and the rosemary chips. All were excellent, especially the bacon and kimchi burger.
