Herrings Green Farm

I visited today with an adult wheelchair user, although pretty much everything is accessible, it was a struggle, lots of gravel, narrow paths, steps etc. The bird displays and staff almost made up for it.

We visited today and got off to a bad start. We would come across a member of staff talking to people by the enclosures and think 'oh this looks cool' and wonder over, only to find it was a private event or experience day... signage blocking off the main arena or smaller areas would be useful in these situations to avoid embarrassment and awkward situations. There is no map provided and little signage around, so when you are given a list of activities on the way in, it is then slightly frustrating that you cannot easily figure out where the timed activities are. For example the 'animals and critters' experience wasn't actually where the farm animals and critters are kept... The farm and 'activities' are very worn down and unkempt, and for a similar price you can visit other local places, for example Mead Open Farm which has a lot more activities for the kids. Though we saw some lovely animals and birds, and it's clear the entry price is largely for the upkeep of the animals and supporting the collection of birds of prey.

An incredible falconry experience today! Sinead was so lovely and informative. Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience with these amazing birds!

I booked a falconry experience at Bottisham where the team bought a few of the birds for a flying and handling experience. Thought it would be nice to visit and see the birds they have. The flying shows were amazing, the staff were lovely and you can tell how invested and passionate they are with the birds. They're all beautiful and I fulfilled a dream of being up close and personal with a red kite, but several ❤️ it really was a great day out, big thanks to Sarah for answering my questions and letting me keep a kite feather 🪶 , would recommend going here for the day. Thanks very much 😀
