Tana Thai

Very bad experience yesterday evening! It was my first visit at Tana lounge after many visits at Tana Thai. Very disappointed ☹️ Atmosphere was dull, felt like in a staff canteen, there was no music playing and the place felt cold. Not like Tana Thai cosy and intimate. I have ordered crispy duck, the skin was chewy and very greasy, certainly not worth it £21 I left half on my plate. Nothing like I had at previous location. You can tell that Tana its not cooking any more. For that reasons unfortunately I won’t be returning.

It was my second time here. The food was amazing, tasty, and good-looking, and the service was amazing, too. I definitely come back there and will recommend this place to my clients from my Serviced Accommodation.

Lovely Thai food, different to the way we have had it before but that made it all the more interesting ! Portion sizes are really generous and we really enjoyed trying new dishes. Atmosphere was really nice as well, other than when a really noisy group came to sit next to us and proceeded to talk loudly on the phone on loudspeaker, but we really appreciated how the staff told them to turn it off, as you don't get assertiveness often-- thank you for respecting the majority of your customers ! The service to get our food ordered was a little slow, we waited about 30 mins to get our food orders in but on the whole the staff were very attentive and friendly and we would absolutely visit again! Also your tiramisu is amazing !!!

My wife and I used to regularly visit Tana Thai at their previous location. This was our first visit to their new venue. It was a Friday evening, and we had a reservation. Despite the restaurant being extremely quiet, we were told to sit right next to another family, even though 90% of the restaurant was empty. We ordered the classic Thai mixed starter for two. The prawn toast was overcooked and extremely greasy. The squid was rubbery, and the fish cakes were cold. I ordered a prawn dish with jasmine rice, and it was completely flavorless, very bland. My wife ordered the minced spicy pork, but it was so hot that it was almost inedible. I complained about the food, but there was no apology, just a dismissive "I'll let the chef know." When we received the bill, we paid the full price, and there wasn't even a mint or after-dinner chocolate. Every other Thai restaurant in Bedford is now far superior to this place, which is a shame, as it used to be one of our favorites. Update to owners reply. And this is exactly the reason why we do not recommend this place. Very defensive response and the main dishes were not finished at all. Please don't lie, it's not very professional. As for seating we chose our table which wasn't the one allocated to our booking. Yes we ate the starters but we were hungry and my review is that it was very disappointing. Therefore never going again
