Just a short walk from Bedford town centre, The Gordon Arms can be found on well-loved Castle Road, in the heart of Bedford’s Castle Quarter. We’d love you to consider it your neighbourhood hangout, offering great beer, tasty food and friendly service.

Our legendary Ent Shed has also had a modern re-fit, making it the perfect place to host events and private parties. Keep an eye on our events page to stay up to date with the latest live music performances.

We’re also dog-friendly, so your four-legged friends are most welcome to join you in our bar area and gardens.

The Gordon Arms has been a much-loved fixture in Bedford for many years, and after an extensive refurbishment, the pub is reopening under new management. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy local entertainment, top quality craft beer and great food in our stylishly renovated interior and beer garden.

Literally the first time I've been in the pub, Great atmosphere, friendly and definitely a friendly crowd. For a bar that's hidden away, it's a little gem, and I recommend a visit to this old school local.

Been to this pub many times it's got a fantastic menu with loads of really lovely items including and can recommend the pizzas especially on Monday when they do their two for one offer. Great selection of beers especially because it's a brew point pub that has some of their fantastic locally brewed beers. The decor and venue looks fantastic with lots of different spaces for groups families and a nice outdoors in the summer as well. Staff are always super friendly and helpful

Great pub- beer on tap is from brew point so the selection is decent. Service is quick, I’d argue quicker and friendlier than brewpoint as well! We ordered pizzas which were ways enough to adapt for vegetarians and for my dairy allergy. Makes life a lot easier when you have an allergy want to head out and feel comfortable you’ll be able to eat something and have some choice!

This is a Brewpoint (Charlie Wells) pub, and is in the Good Beer Guide. 4 handpumps but only one on when we where there, and I had the Brewpoint Anchorman which was good. The pub has been modernised but still had a good atmosphere, but the highlight for us was actually the bar staff. The lady who served us was very friendly and when we were thinking about what we wanted and she explained all of the beers without us asking, and gave us tasters of the beers and talked to us a lot. I asked about the brewery and she told us lots of great information. Very good service.
