The Kingfisher Pub

Staff were so very helpful, friendly and extremely aminable, helpful. They were lovely with my requests re putting my doggies food in their fridge. One critism is that during a heatwave it would be extremely nice to have had a couple of bottles of water in the room, like ive had at other hotels (which were a lot cheaper than staying here!). I ended up drinking water from the tap as I was so thirsty having travelled from Hampshire in tons of traffic to be there. And the tap water was disgusting. So to be fair I think with an expensive hotel such as yours, I think you could afford at least two small bottles of water in each room? I know there's a bar next door but i think complimentary bottles would be a nice gesture. Also not enough teabags or milk packets (4 of those small milk packets things). I loved the bowl and bed in the room as a lovely gesture for my dog.

Service, amazing. Interior, love it! Food, good but could be improved. Came here for the first time and it was lovely! I ordered a Bavette steak - pink - but they gave it to me well done. The sweet potato mash was unreal! Loved that, but also couldn’t eat much of the corn, and the peppercorn sauce, needs MUCH less pepper! I know its meant to be peppery, but it was overload - my partner who’s a chef also agreed BUT, I would love to come back and try other dishes, since everyone else loved their meals

My son had his wedding after party in the tythe barn, everything went to plan, we had rooms, excellent service and beautiful setting, food, excellent, even catering for different allergies, cannot fault a thing

Went for a meal with my wife meal was great steak cooked to perfection service was great will go again

Staff in the restaurant are always wonderful, friendly and helpful. They cater for specific requirements with no fuss.

Have eaten here several times, but was quite poor last Saturday. Food service was very slow although restaurant wasn't even half full at lunchtime. Food quality was disappointing, very bland and uninspiring. A shame, as the venue is lovely.
