The Kingfisher Pub, Bedford is a riverside pub with rooms, located on the River Great Ouse, offering delicious dining and relaxed service in a historical setting. At the Kingfisher our aim is to produce the best quality dishes with the lowest food miles. Our meat travels under 15 miles from farm to plate and our fruit is delivered from just a mile away. Have eaten here several times, but was quite poor last Saturday. Food service was very slow although restaurant wasn't even half full at lunchtime. Food quality was disappointing, very bland and uninspiring. A shame, as the venue is lovely.

Id seen many photos and reviews from a friend who had been here before so thought Id give it a go. I wasnt that impressed if im honest. We were told there were no tables available at that time but we were welcome to go outside. It got too cold so went back in to see if a table was available yet. The young man was very accommodating and gave us a table in an area that had been empty the first time when we w alked in. We were away from all of the other people which was good but seemed to be forgotten about. Service was so poor. Food was average at most. Not really somewhere Ill be rushing back to.

I was surprise that everyone had to use card to buy alcohol nothing was said about cash as people who use cash only had to get a friend to buy them a drink the only down falk that night
