Welcome back to The Pheasant your new look local in Bedford

Cosy seating nooks await you, whether you are in the mood for a light bite, late lunch or are looking for a spot to have dinner with friends, our menus have something for everyone.

The Pheasant Bedford is what you might call a ‘proper pub’ serving a selection of real ales and craft beers, including the latest brews from down the road at Brewpoint. We also have a variety of gins and spirits, including an extensive range of soft drinks.

At the front of the pub you will find our glorious terrace, perfect for soaking up the sun in the Summer months. Grab your friends and settle in for the longer days with a nice chilled bottle of rosé or G&T.

At The Pheasant Bedford, we are dog friendly! Your four-legged friends are welcome in the bar area and garden.

Whatever the occasion The Pheasant Bedford is just the place, we can’t wait to see you!

Great place to watch the rugby which the added bonus a really top class Eggs Florentine breakfast. Will definitely be back for weekend breakfasts. Good value.

We went for food this afternoon, and I couldn't fault the ladies running front of house, really helpful and friendly, however... At 15 quid for roast chicken, both me and my son were less than impressed. A small standard run of the mill chicken breast, that was dry and without seasoning, very overcooked Broccoli, and I could go on. Unbelievably bland all round, zero seasoning used on any of the food and swimming in bog standard bisto style gravy, that was hot and wet but no flavour. A very poor show. Shame to be honest, we were rather excited. Will be warning others instead of recommending, and this frustrates me as we love our food.

We’ve been coming to The Pheasant for a while now, and it’s always been a great local spot. The food is consistently good, the burgers are absolutely top-notch, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. It’s got that relaxed, genuine vibe that makes you feel right at home. One thing that had us wishing for more was not having a place nearby that served a proper full English on a Saturday morning — but they’ve recently started doing it, and we couldn’t be happier! Had breakfast there and it hit the spot perfectly. We'll definitely be back for more. Bonus points: dog-friendly and kid-friendly, which makes it even more of a win in our book. Highly recommend if you're after good food, good people, and a laid-back atmosphere.
