Top 5 Fitness Tips from Bedford Personal Trainer, Nat Naaman

We spoke with Nat Naaman, Bedford Personal Trainer and Mindset Coach to find out her top 5 tips for stepping into fitness in 2024

1. Get clear on your why!

What is your reason for wanting to get fit / improve your fitness in 2024? Is it because you want to feel healthier? Are you training for a big event? Do you have a holiday coming up & you’re wanting to feel more confident than ever? Whatever your reason, be true to yourself and get clear on it. This is what’s gonna get you up in the morning & get you doing the workout when motivation is lacking (which will happen so be prepared for it!).

2. Set some goals!

Set some long term AND short term goals. I always recommend having two types of goals; one which is related to body / measurements or weight / how you look & feel in a certain outfit (if that’s something that you’re aiming for) and one which is totally non-scale related, such as running a certain distance in a set amount of time or hitting a certain weight in your deadlifts for example. I suggest setting a shorter term goal(s) – 6 weeks, 12 weeks for example, and also a longer term goal(s) such as 6 months or 12 months. You can then break down your shorter term goals into weekly goals too! Small and consistent steps are what will get you there.

3. Do exercise that you actually enjoy!

Don’t feel like you have to go and lift heavy weights because it’s what you see everyone doing on TikTok. If a Zumba class or a spin session is what gets you going, do that and do it as much as you can! Doing something you enjoy means that the chances of you sticking to it are a lot higher and you’re winning.

4. Invest in a personal trainer!

If you’ve got certain goals you want to hit, having a Bedford Personal Trainer to help you and hold you accountable makes the world of difference. Rocking up to the gym without a plan will only ever get you so far, so if you’re willing, make that investment and find a coach that suits YOU. I’m here if you need me!

5. Work on your mind, too!

I’m a firm believer that everything starts on the inside. If you want to remain consistent and disciplined when working towards your goals, your mindset needs to be in the right place. Make sure you’re investing time in personal development and listening to people who inspire you on a daily basis, as this will help keep your mind right and will improve the way you show up for yourself. This is something not all Bedford Personal Trainers can offer, but I’d be delighted to help you in this area.

If you need some help working on yourself in 2024, reach out to Bedford Personal Trainer, Nat… You won’t be disappointed!
