Great service, nice coffee provided, reasonably priced

Maria, Ellie, Lilly and Lacey are a dynamic team and amazing stylists. The salon is the best hairdressing experience I have ever had. They are beautiful, talented, polite and so knowledgeable and caring to each individual client. Maria Grazia is a family - that is the experience from the moment you enter the salon to leaving. Great care and consideration of hair issues which they style and make you feel like a new woman. Thank you all for being constantly brilliant.

I had the NanoSmoothing treatment. I have very thick and frizzy hair that is prone to fluffing at the smallest hint of humidity or rain. Prior to this treatment I also had a haircut and Spa Treatment Sea Algae as I wanted to make sure my hair was in the best condition for the Nanosmoothing treatment. After two years with no hair cut and box dyes I was in desperate need of a restyle and refresh. The Nanosmoothing treatment takes a long time, with your hair needing to be washed and blowdried three times! The point of the treatment is to smooth the hair, but not remove the volume or texture of your hair but make it easier to manage and less prone to frizz afterwards. On the day of the treatment you have a shampoo. Then your hair is blowdried and the Nanosmoothing is applied to all of your hair, starting at the roots and then applied to the rest. It is combed through and you wait for it work about 40 minutes. Your hair is then blowdried again and straightened, then then you wait until your hair has cooled down. You are washed again removing all the treatment from your hair fully and you're good to go! While the treatment takes a long time you are looked after during it and the time it saved long term is worth it. During this time the staff were all wonderful, it's a long time to be anywhere and I had drinks (Cappuccino and Americano's) brought to me and everyone was so lovely throughout. Ellie is confident and knowledgeable and that is really excellent when you're trying a new style. She made sure to explain everything before hand clearly and make sure I was comfortable. The salon also has lovely reclining chairs at the shampoo station. So if you do need three shampoos in quick succession this is the best place to have them! The sea algae spa treatment I had previously was incredibly relaxing to sit in these chairs. The first time I had to wash and blowdry it myself Was the real test, as I am rubbish at it and due to the amount of hair impatient and frustrated at my efforts usually. Results after this treatment? Amazing, the texture of my hair has changed, but not the volume or my curl. It did not frizz overnight or when I went outside as it usually does and it feels so soft. My hair was so quick to do and the best part it stayed like that! Basically the treatment has made my hair the best version of my hair and it looks the best it ever has thanks to Ellie and the rest of the team. 🤩

Absolutely look forward to my salon visits after coming to Maria Grazia! Had my hair done by Lacie who was super friendly, attentive and let me personalise every aspect of my cut + half head of highlights. Was walked through each step of the process and constantly asked if I was happy with the results achieved. Needless to say I was- the attention to detail here is amazing!! Cannot recommend Lacie and the rest of the team here enough. + amazing bonus that everything in the salon smells divine 😍😍

This place should be closed down. I went in to get a price and asked specifically for the ammonia-free colour (clearly offered on their website) - I was given the same price as the normal colour by the miserable, unhelpful, unwelcoming receptionist who looked down her nose at me, bearing in mind I would have been a new client (who should therefore have been welcomed). Out of desperation, I went back a few seconds later to book, to find her and a colleague laughing about me. She told me I needed a patch test. For some peculiar reason, she simply would not listen to me when I said I wanted ammonia-free colour, repeatedly telling me the normal colour was "mild" and no-one has ever had a reaction. What on earth? Bear in mind she had already told me it would be the same price, so it's not as if it would be more expensive for them. When she couldn't persuade me, she then kept telling me over and over that she'd have to order the ammonia-free in - I said "fine". She then tried a different tack - trying to tell me it wouldn't cover grey (I've had ammonia-free colour colour for decades). I then told her exactly what I wanted in terms of colour (shade), so she could order it (as she kept telling she'd have to) and thus began a lengthy lecture telling me I was wrong and what they were going to do instead. I explained the last hairdresser (at another salon) had made a mistake with the colour - the girl here bizarrely replied: "I'm sure it wasn't intentional". What? I don't need your interpretation or moralising, thank you. I repeated, several times, what I wanted and despite this - and the girl telling me I clearly knew what I was talking about- she kept telling me they would do what they thought best (which was not what I asked for) and she completely ignored my express wishes. We went round in circles and I got bored. I was then given the patch test, having insisted on having ammonia-free colour (and endured more excuses). After she applied the colour, I checked that it was the ammonia-free - the girl said no it was not, it was the normal colour. What on earth? This was all too much, so I made an excuse about booking an appointment and left. I instantly felt a burning sensation, removed the cotton wool and saw a bright red allergic reaction where the colour had been applied. I went straight back to the salon and the same miserable girl didn't even apologise. WORSE, she wanted to put it on the other arm "to check - I'm sure it'll be fine this time". Are you insane? Obviously I said no. She then magicked up some of the elusive ammonia-free colour "that she'd have to order in" (she told me this again) to do a patch test with. The only reason I persisted this far was because there is only one other salon in Bedford that offers ammonia-free colour. I couldn't get out fast enough. This place is dangerous and should not be open. I was led astray and my health was risked - for what? Why bother doing patch tests if you ignore what the person asks for in terms of what you apply? Why bother when the person has an INSTANT angry reaction and then you want to apply the same product AGAIN? Clients being ignored seems to be a theme in the reviews. No wonder this place was empty on a Saturday. Who on earth goes here and why? There isn't a single redeeming feature.

Honestly had the best experience here! Elle was amazing, so accommodating, knowledgeable and patient and really took the time to understand what I needed! Also was styled by Lacie who was just so lovely! Amazing results, couldn’t be happier! Will be returning

My first time with them and it was a 10/10 experience. The ladies were so lovely and beautiful. I got exactly what I asked for and better. Definitely going back.

I've been to this salon 3 or 4 times now and every time it exceeded expectations. The girls are so friendly, bringing snacks and drinks and making you comfortable, and the salon itself is spotless with beautiful decor. The booking process is easy, I don't think the prices are unreasonable at all, and you get what you pay for. I always leave feeling extremely happy with my hair, because they truly listen to what you ask for... I have actually recommended to my friends. Don't listen to those negative Google reviews!!

First visit to the salon and had my first balayage done by Elle.. I have always found stepping into a salon very nerve-racking, but I experienced great service from Elle from start to finish, very attentive and supportive.. She worked her magic and the end product was fantastic! All of the team I interacted with were friendly, and I can't fault any of it 😁
