Maria Grazia Salon, at 34 Castle Lane Bedford, is a town centre oasis that takes endeavours to give you an experience – in a space that channels creativity within a calming environment. Owned by Maria Grazia Ianiri, with an extensive career as a colour specialist behind her and also as a Technical Educator working as a colour consultant for both Schwarzkopf and Sassoon, Maria is perfectly trained to give you the best hair experience. Maria started working in salons at just 13-years-old, learning and absorbing and now at 33 together with a wealth of knowledge and expertise can train and mould her own team to success. Maria spent her earlier career working in Bedford and Milton Keynes salons before venturing to London. It was there that she discovered her love for colour. “It was being thrown into the deep end, with the amount of passing trade. I was in a big team, I was able to work with so many different people from all over the world and exposed to the industry that was so fast paced. The London salon was big on customer service, blow dries and colour. I was inspired by the customers journey and the experience they were creating.” Following her time there, she then joined Schwarzkopf Professional at just 22 where she was introduced to a whole new side to the industry. “The initial training was intensive start to finish, it was full time for 3 months, and I remember my line manager at the time saying ‘forget everything you know about colour; you have to learn our way to ‘become’ Schwarzkopf. I was totally inspired by this and completely all in for what was going to be the start of the next 7 years. I loved every minute of it, it allowed me to travel all over the UK and abroad. Taking on big salon teams and colleges you would deliver education to all levels and adapt to different learning styles in salons and at the London Academy, it gave me such a buzz, and instilled such professionalism and confidence. I loved it – its the backbone to my career.” Maria Grazia has been fortunate to have worked with industry leaders, some of the best in the business today, and has taken that experience and employed it into her own salon concept.
